There was a girl once, who used to yell at me when I complained about turning twenty. Around the time of my birthday, all I talked about was how I had to start growing up and stop being a punk kid. Not that I wanted to, but society wouldn't stand for my immaturity after two decades.
She told me that I was foolish. And for her part then, she was right. She reminded me that I have better years ahead of me than behind me and that there was so much to look forward to in life.
Now, she's getting closer to 20. And she's having the similar woes that I did. To her, I can only say: You have so much left in life-- the better years ahead of you-- with so much to look forward to.
So let's all be in our twenties. And be happy adults. It'll be fun... I promise.
