So I spent the greater part of this week at BARD with Abby. It was... nice. Peaceful. Reassuring. Relaxing. Fun. The USHE.
I've been meeting lots of Abby's friends too, which are, all in all, really great people. They're very nice. Down to Earth. NOT AT ALL awkward. It's a good feeling to know that those types of people still exist in this crazy world.
So tomorrow I spend my day on a train (for the frist time in my life, ever) back to Montreal.
As for not going home to Maine this break... it was worth it, but I learned exactly how much I really do miss my family/animals/house/home.
Also, this week has been completely dry and relatively smoke-less (one hit?). I didn't think that I could deal with sobriety, but I'm clearly making it (and even refusing cigarettes left and right!).
What about the politics of the world today? Bush in Germany mouthing off to the Iranians, trying to rebuild ties with Europe. I mean, that's not AWFUL news. More dead in Iraq from suicide bombings. What would a day be without news of some deaths in the middle east? North Korea officially anouncing that it has nuclear weapons. That sucks, but we knew it all along anyways.
Anything else or can life just be DECENT for a few days?
In conclusion, I can't even describe how good it feels to be in the woods, again. IN nature. WITH nature. I envy Bard for that. Mountain view. Lots of trees. Birds chirping over the snow. Spring is almost here, why not be HAPPY?
