Ralph Nader on the frivilous lawsuits brought by democrats to keep him off the ballot:
"It's not simply keeping 2 candidates off the state ballot, its denying millions of voters the right to vote for the candidate of their choice." It's a violation of the first amendment.
"Once you STRESS the system that is inherently corrupt, the pus and bile and mucus come to the surface in all their ugliness."
Said the democratic party: "We're doing this to DRAIN the resources of the Nader/Camejo campaign."
It seems to me, this is a violation of the first ammendment and a man's right to run for office. I don't CARE if you want Bush to lose THAT badly, this is a two-party DICTATORSHIP. This is RIDICULOUS. If the democrats spent this time and money and resources working on their own platform, they would easily win this election. If they spent this time fighting for a CAUSE and REPRESENTING the people, they wouldn't even need to worry about a third party STEALING their votes. Do you know why liberal democrats and independents vote for Nader? Because they're NOT happy with the the Democratic party. Instead of trying to represent them, the democrats are trying to LOCK them into voting for them. LOCK them into voting for the lesser of two evils---- the more liberal of two, too conservative parties.
I honestly urge all of you to go to www.votenader.org. Watch the speeches he gives. Listen to the arguments. At the very least, acknowledge Nader's right to run for election. I understand you don't want your vote to be THROWN AWAY, and you don't want Bush to win, but at the very least, acknowledge democracy in this country. Acknowledge the fact that the democrats are playing a disgusting, dirty campaign. Acknowledge that the democrats are "surrounded by invisible chains of CORPORATE FUNDING with strings attached".
They are NOT the political party of the people. They are NOT the political party of the working class. By showing this VILE side of attacking the Nader campaign, they are showing their own LOSS OF TOUCH with the people. They are displaying their own prejudices to saving their own asses over representing the views of their voters. They are displaying the fact that they'd rather be corporate WHORES and DIRTY fat-cats than democratic citizens. Practice what you preach!
I for one, will not be part of it. I for one, am voting for Nader. The least you could do is read his arguments. Don't be an un-informed hater. Don't step on a man's right to run for election. Don't GIVE this country to a two party- duopoly. At least let this still be a democratic country, by the people and for the people.
