Boston posted a comment to my Nader post and this is my reply.
Re: Re: Nader roxxors.
Ok Boston.
Kerry is a tool. If the democrats lose this election it's their own fault for picking one of the worst candidates possible (just under Hillary Clinton and... say... Ted Kennedy [another GREAT senator from Taxachusettes]).
I'm not sure what the dems were thinking, but he's the only candidate whose poll numbers go DOWN every time he opens his mouth.
Stop blaming Nader for the failures of your party.
Enough about that.
On other issues:
You bring up some really really good points, Boston.
Yes, Kerry and Bush differ on education, tax reform, abortion, health care, etc. etc.
But you know where both parties agree? CORPORATE FUNDING.
So maybe the Dems and the Reps disagree on many things, but they certainly agree on the selling out of the people of America.
Yes, I don't like Bush's foreign policy. But, no, I don't think Kerry is the answer. I'd rather not vote at all than vote for either of those puppets.
I can't believe people are so brainwashed by this 2-party system that they still say that Nader is STEALING votes from the dems. It's my vote. It's the candidate's job to get me to vote for him. Even of the democrats that vote for Nader, who's to say they would have voted for Kerry--- Lots hate him just as much as Bush and refuse to play the "lesser of two evils" game.
If you say that I'm a moron for choosing my candidate based on "the way they conduct business," then I'm a moron. The way they conduct business is disgusting. They're both corrupt (morally and otherwise) and peppered with fat-cats lining their pockets and ignoring the people of this country. Just a few weeks ago the governor of Connecticut had to resign for numerous scandals coming to light. (He was, btw, a democrat.)
You agree with me that politics is fueled by money. You agree with me that it should be changed. Why then, can you not stand up and VOTE for a change? A vote for Kerry may start us on bailing out our sinking ship of a country, but if we could change things, we could PLUG that hole for good.
Nader has every right to be pissed at the democrats. They DO treat him like a second-class citizen. This is America isn't it? He does have the right to run still, doesn't he? Or, as quoted in That 70's Show, Did we wake up this morning in Soviet Russia?
As to the fact that "The Greens want nothing to do with him," that's completely bogus. He helped to build that party with countless hours of work, and they still appreciate and respect everything he has to say. They don't chose a presidential candidate until August, but one can only hope they don't fear this two-party monopoly and back Kerry. They still might pick Nader.
I agree that we're entering some very important times here, which is exactly why I'm encouraging everyone to vote FOR Nader. Every vote he gets is someone saying "I REFUSE to choose the lesser of two evils. I REFUSE to be led around by two corrupt political giants. I REFUSE to let my voice go unheard."
