I've been watching Band of Brothers lately... and its incredible. First of all, to those of you who havnt seen it... do so. Secondly, as you're watching it, think about those guys... those... killing machines, going home and having families. Then... think about your grandfather, being that man. It's crazy. Like, my grandfather always used to tell me about the good times when he was a radio man island hopping the pacific, but christ... its scary to think that he's killed, and been shot at, and narrowly escaped death....
At the end of the second episode of BoB, one of the characters you follow prays to god [note: not God.]. He says that if god will see him through all of this shit, then he'll go home, get a nice little plot of land, raise a family and live his life in peace---That's my grandfather. Both of them, actually. Christ. It just boggles the mind. Their whole lives were centered around this war... and all we do is read about it.
Also, guys, I think I just wanna say, thanks for still reading-- and... caring. : -D
