Welcome Home,
I've never been so excited for a record release than I am for my 8th CD Home. This particular compilation was recorded in May of 2002 and mastered in January of 2003. For those of us who have been following my live performances, you will notice studio documentations of songs I've been playing live for years. In the same listen, you will hear never performed live studio creations. The entire project was recorded, mixed and co-produced by Jeff Covert at Wally Cleavers in Fredericksburg, VA and mastered by Charlie Pilzer at Airshow in Springfield, VA.
The original idea was to do a double CD. One being vocal, one being instrumental. Instead, I trimmed it down to one half and half disc. My love for instrumental music has grown so much that I can say nothing hurts a song more than lyrics. But what would I do with all these silly words that appear and bonk me on the head like little bunny fu fu? I don't have the patience to write a book, hell, I can't even type. So worry not lyric lovers, the words have to go somewhere, might as well be in songs. Where was I, oh yeah, at Home.
I went ahead and took the liberty of being the only musician on this recording. I played acoustic and electric guitars and basses, guitar synthesizers, piano, organ, all kinds of percussion, drums, cymbals and of course all the voices. Being the sole playah on the record is something I've wanted to do for a long time. I feel Home is a true representation of where my music was as a whole in the spring of 2002.
With that being said, leave your shoes by the door and welcome to my Home.
