An open letter to Kyle in response to your comments on previous posts:
ok, so are you telling me that you are a better qualified to make a person's decisions than they are themselves? You liberal punk bastard. (i know Sam will get a kick out of that) People's lives are their own, and even though you may not think that it's ok to smoke crack and shoot up, someone may want to spend their life doing those things. LIFE is not what they tell you it is, Kyle. Life is a personal thing. Are you a god believing man, Kyle? God created crack and heroin and shrooms and weed as well as water and light, so why the hell are they here if we're not supposed to use them, if we so choose?! That's another thing god gave us, the power to choose. Those god nuts claim that its ok to kill and eat a cow because god put it here for us, his most prized creation, and this situation isn't different at all.
On the other hand, if you don't believe in god, my responce is still the same. Don't think that you're better than other people just because they use drugs. I for one appreciate the fact that many drugs are mind-expanding. I'm not saying that I would sign up for crack or heroin, but I'm saying that someone might. I actually happen to agree with you, that those things are kinda bad, but I know better than to try and make other people's decisions for them. I am not THAT qualified, and I don't think you are either.
This is the same fucking situation as all of those laws that have recently been passed by state or federal congress. Take for example, the mandatory seat belt or helmet law. If a person chooses not to wear a seat belt or helmet, it doesn't put anyone else in danger. It's crap. If I want to take the risk of driving without my seatbelt, that ought to be my right as, not only an American, but as a human with a brain. 90% of all people are capapble of making their own decisions, and just because you would choose something else, doesn't mean that you're right, or that you should force that on other people. You would force someone to be a Catholic or a 7th Day Adventist, now, would you? Of course not, so why are you forcing people not to do drugs?
I would love for this debate to continue, as it is not only a debate over drug usage, but a political debate between the left and the right. Any other conservatives out there who want to help me, feel free. Any liberals who want to help Kyle... well... help him.
Thanks for helping me start a controversial topic Kyle.
